Alright, I said I'd post more about work and all that jazz, so here it comes:
Because my school schedule is going to change next semester (as all school schedules do, unless you are in K-12), my work schedule is going to have to change, as well. Only makes sense, right? Right. Well, I talked to my manager about it almost a month ago, which is MONTHS in advance from the actual start of next semester (January 17th, to be exact), so that we could get some stuff figured out and make up a schedule and try to keep me with the same amount of hours as I am currently getting. Well, he worked something up, we edited it a little bit, and then came up with something we bought thought would work out well for me.
Now, the only problem is to present it to the other four people who work in the cage with me. As I am the only person working in the cage who is going to school, this shouldn't really be a problem, right? Wrong.
Everyone was okay with it, except Machelle. She was very lucky from day one to start working at 7:30am to 3:30pm every Monday through Friday. Nobody in gaming gets those kind of hours, and yet somehow, she did. But with this new schedule for next semester, she's going to have to give up her weekends for Thursday and Friday (I'm really not sure how that works out, since I will only be working Swing shifts, and she only works Day shifts, so I'm not actually taking over any of her shifts...). Anyway, I guess our manager told her it was only going to go into April, but school actually ends May 12th, almost two weeks later, so she's upset about that right off the bat.
Anyway, it's dumb, so I'm going to try to talk to our manager about changing the schedule back to normal as soon as school is out for me (but it'll only be for 4 months during the summer, 'cause when I do my student teaching, it's going to be the same block of hours that i'll be working again).
I don't know. I just hope it works out.
And now for school: I'm getting rationales done for my classes for this semester, but I'm still going to have to work on rationales for classes in the previous semesters. That's going to be the hard part, 'cause they were from so long ago, I hardly remember the assignment.
My computer teacher piled on a ton of crap right before finals week (the week after next), so I've been trying to get that done. We have 2 assignments due on Monday, something on Friday, a final project that's going to take forever because it's incorporating almost everything we've learned all semester, AND a final test. Fortunately, she's allowing us to turn in the final project AFTER the final test, and after all our other classes final projects are due, as well, so that was nice of her.
Urg. It's been cold as all get-out here lately. I think the high was 9* today. *Shiver*
